FUEL MANAGEMENT (COAL & OTHER SOLID FUELS)- DECISION MAKING & CONTROL
20 – 21 APRIL 2017, KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA
About The Course
Fuel is one of the most critical items for industries like Thermal Power Plant, Cement etc where major portion of energy budget is being spent in procuring them. For example, a cement plant of 1.60 MTPA clinker production capacity, spends around US$ 14 million in a year to buy different types & grades of solid fuels. Similarly a 240 MW thermal power plant needs to buy coal of worth US$ 55 million in a year when operating under usual PLF. Hence plant should count every penny it spends for procurement of such fuels. There are several areas of losses against which plant must guard themselves – fuel properties, impurities, transportation loss, storage & handling loss, measurement error, reporting error etc. Therefore it is very much important to make judicious purchase decision and track the complete fuel path from mines to the boiler or kiln.
