About The Course
Imagine a day in your life, waking up facing contracts stacked in front of you. One side of your table filled by files with contracts that you need to go through and on the other side, files consists of documents regarding maritime to approve or decline. Besides, more Shipment details were still pending from being keyed- in, and when you started think where to start, you received phone calls from various freight dealers asking for updates about their demurrage resettlement. Your life can be miserable and you are afraid that decisions made are no longer accurate.
This is why one need to train himself from the experts to polish his ability in this sector. This is where we came in to help in by providing training to other entities for their own and nation’s betterment but efficiency in this “dull” put-fixture activity is expected nevertheless.
The expected time for a coal shipment to be in port for the loading and unloading process is known as laytime. Unfortunately, if the coal shipment is delayed at the port due to some uncontrollable reasons, it will cause the ship-owner to be entitled to claim compensation in the form of demurrage.
Most of the time, laytime and demurrage enthusiasts seem to forget the most important part in the process, which is the calculations. It is a single document that determines the final outcomes of the process. The end-to-end laytime job reactive to great focus in details and numbers.
Throughout this 3-day training, participants will be involved deeply on the fundamental principles which underpin laytime and also calculations involved. Besides, this training provides the participants a real time situational understanding since the training includes case studies and workshops which are specially designed for coal shipments to ensure the participants can outline all the knowledge gained throughout the training.

Course Faculty - Nurul Wahidah Talib & Farah Syairah Nik Suhaimi
Nurul Wahidah Talib , Executive (Operation), TNB Fuel Services Sdn Bhd.
Wahida is a progressive executive in TNB Fuel Service. She holds a Bachelor Degree of Business Administration in Finance from University Teknologi Mara, Malaysia. Currently, she entrusted with the position of the Executive (Operation), TNB Fuel Services Sdn Bhd. She is the key account manager for Jimah Energy Ventures Sdn Bhd.
Before Joining TNB, she worked with few multinational companies including, Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia, HSBC Bank Malaysia and also Holcim Malaysia Sdn Bhd.
Wahida started her carrier path in TNB Fuel Service Sdn Bhd as a Demurrage Analyst for over 3 years. Throughout her carrier she deals with Kapar Energy TNB Fuel Service Sdn Bhd, Jimah Energy Ventures Sdn Bhd, TNB Janamanjung Sdn Bhd and also Tanjung Bin Power Sdn Bhd.
Wahida have deep understandings and knowledge in Laytime and demmurage due to her exposures with many parties in this industry. Her experience and her extensive skills in Laytime Industry had been among the reason of TNB Fuel Service’s operation operating smoothly.
Farah Syairah Nik Suhaimi, Executive (Operation), TNB Fuel Services Sdn Bhd
Farah holds a Bachelor of Science in Marine Technology (Hons). & Master of Engineering (Safety, Health and Environment). Currently, she entrusted with the position of the Executive (Operation), TNB Fuel Services Sdn Bhd.
With almost seven (7) years in areas of Logistic and international business, she involved in General cargo vessels, container ships, dry bulk carriers and reefer ships. Also, she had experience in Sales, Marketing and branding.
By covering, wide area of expertise in supply chain management, Farah has deep understanding and knowledge in this industry. Her vast experience and progressive skills has been entrusted and qualifies her to deal many coal IPP for TNB Fuel Services such as in Manjung, Jimah, Kapar and also Tanjung Bin. She is also keen in strengthening her skills and therefore, she is now pursuing her PhD in Business Administration.

This training course has a limited attendance for up to 20 participants only. Sessions commence at 9am on all days, with short intervals at 10.30am and 3.30pm respectively. Refreshments will be provided in the short intervals. Lunch will be provided at 12:30pm for 1 hour. Sessions will end at 5pm on all days.
